Privacy policy

Last updated 21 August 2026. This policy is a working draft and is being reviewed.

Who we are

Chattanooga.Digital is a cooperative based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, supported by Eduity, LLC. This policy covers the website at chattanooga.digital.

What we collect

We only collect what you type into a form. We do not buy data about you, and we do not track you across other websites.

If you apply for membership we ask for your name, email address, postal address, phone number and date of birth, and optionally your organisation and role, your background and interests, and your level of experience with technology. We ask for date of birth and address because cooperative membership is a formal relationship and we need to know who our members are.

If you ask for information or to join our updates list we collect your name and email address.

If you use the Tech Strategy Tool we collect your name, email address, role and organisation, along with the answers you give about your organisation. Those answers are about your organisation rather than about you, but people often mention colleagues or suppliers in them, and we treat the whole submission as confidential.

If you sign up for the newsletter or use the contact form we collect your email address, and your name if you give it.

Automatically, our web server records the IP address you submit a form from, and records failed login attempts, which we use to block automated abuse.

What we do not collect

We do not set any cookies on your browser unless you log in to an account on the site. If you are just reading the site, we set none at all.

We host our own fonts, so browsing this site does not send a request to any font provider.

We use Plausible for basic visitor statistics. Plausible does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not build a profile of you or follow you to other sites. It tells us how many people read a page, not who they are.

How we use it

To reply to you, to process your membership application, and to run the cooperative. If you asked for updates, we send you updates.

We do not sell your information. We do not share it for advertising.

Who else sees it

  • Resend delivers our outgoing email, such as replies and password resets.
  • Mailfence hosts the mailbox that receives form notifications.
  • Stripe processes payments, if and when you make one.
  • Plausible receives anonymous page-view statistics as described above.

Notifications we send ourselves when you submit a form contain no details from your submission, only a note that a submission arrived and a link that our own administrators must log in to open. We did that deliberately, so your information stays in one place rather than sitting in mailboxes.

How long we keep it

Membership applications are kept while we process them and while you are a member. We are moving membership records into a dedicated system and reducing what the website itself stores. Other form submissions are kept only as long as we need them to respond to you.

If you want your information removed, ask us and we will remove it.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. You can unsubscribe from updates at any time. Write to membership@chattanooga.digital and we will act on it.

Deleting your information may mean we cannot continue your membership, and we will tell you if that is the case before we do it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Access to form submissions is limited to administrators of the site. We rate-limit and block repeated failed login attempts.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. This is a working draft and we expect it to change once it has been reviewed.
